“It’s special to be a part of OMEGA and share their love for athletics and the Olympic Games.”
Yulimar Rojas is a Venezuelan athlete who holds the world record for women's triple jump, and is the current Olympic and World champion. Raised in a deprived area of Venezuela, she has overcome adversity to achieve huge career success.
Rojas won the silver medal in the triple jump at the Olympic Games Rio 2016 with a 14.98m jump and became the first Venezuelan woman to win an Olympic medal. At Tokyo 2020, she went even better, winning the gold medal and setting a new world record.
In March 2022, she then beat this record with an absolute best female triple jump, landing 15.74m. After the win, she said that her next goal is to jump over 16 metres, saying it is what she was born to do.
To prove her own claim she earned another gold medal just a few months later at the 2022 World Championships.
“As an athlete, I’ve always relied on the commitment of coaches and supporters. Having OMEGA as timekeeper is an important part of that group.”
It takes hard work and sacrifice to win gold. A commitment to excellence that we as watchmakers respect, which is why you’ll find us trackside at many of the world’s most exciting athletics events, cheering on our sports ambassadors and recording dreams.
