Speedy Tuesday 2023 in Tokyo

Passionate Speedmaster fans gathered in Japan’s capital to salute OMEGA’s iconic chronograph. OMEGA’s first Speedy Tuesday event of 2023, held at the Nicolas G. Hayek Center in Ginza, Tokyo, attracted around 70 OMEGA Speedmaster enthusiasts from around the world.

“No other watch has its own special day of the week and inspires such loyalty from around the world.”

Speedy Tuesday is an online community, born on a Tuesday in 2012 from an article posted by Robert-Jean Broer, founder of the watch site Fratello Watches. There are now more than 600 Speedmaster articles published every Tuesday on Fratello Watches, along with countless photos shared by Speedmaster enthusiasts on social media via the hashtag #SpeedyTuesday.

In addition to passionate discussions about the world's most iconic chronograph, the event featured a special presentation on the Speedmaster by Gregory Kissling, OMEGA's Vice President of Product Development, who shared details of OMEGA’s carefully considered dial manufacturing process, from the standard brass dial to Speedy Tuesday's 2018 "Ultraman" aluminum dial, to the most exclusive materials such as meteorite, onyx, and gold.

Mr. Kissling also delivered a detailed explanation of OMEGA’s patented and precise fine-tune adjustment mechanism, the "Spirate™ System", installed in the Speedmaster Super Racing released in early 2023.

Sharing the love. Guests express their passion for the Speedmaster.

“The Tokyo event was further proof of the passion shared by Speedy fans.”
