The Evolution of a Collection

In 1968, three astronauts witnessed what no human had seen before - the Moon’s far side. That moment of discovery lives on in the Dark Side of the Moon collection. Each model is now slightly slimmer and Master Chronometer certified. A new level of precision made for the modern explorer.
The collection introduces both entirely new creations and reimagined classics, each featuring enhanced precision, refined proportions, and advanced ceramic technology.

KEY FEATURES

  • Dial of the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon
    Now bevelled like the Moonwatch, the ceramic dial is constructed in two layers, creating subdials that catch the light from every angle for enhanced readability and visual depth.
  • The caliber 9900
    This Dark Side series takes the next step in precision through the automatic Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9900. Built with an anti-magnetic Si14 Silicon Balance Spring, it achieves the highest standard of performance, as certified by METAS.
  • Crown of the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon

    The ceramic crown on each model features an OMEGA logo with either a matte or Liquidmetal™ finish for enhanced grip and durability.

  • The ceramic clasp
    To give the strap a bold appearance, the foldover clasp is made with polished-brushed ceramic covers and pushers, and with ceramised titanium frame-spring folders.

The Red Hand

Unlike any Dark Side model before, this dramatic polished-brushed version features a striking central seconds hand in red. Inside, the manual-winding "Black Edition" Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9908 gives the timepiece its power, as well as a unique darkened appearance, which is visible through the caseback.

Manual-winding Black Edition chronograph with column wheel and Co-Axial escapement. Certified Master Chronometer, approved by METAS, resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss. Features matte-blackened plates and bridges. Silicon balance-spring, 2 barrels mounted in series, time zone function. Central hour, minute and chronograph seconds hands, small seconds counter, 12-hour and 60-minute counter. Rhodium plated finish with Geneva waves in arabesque.
